THE BEGINNING
The story behind
G. Schiaparelli
How a passion for art and meaningful messages became a brand. Meeting with the founder.
How was the idea for G. Schiaparelli born?
It all started with a simple observation: we spend hours choosing a piece of furniture, a sofa, a lamp — but our walls remain empty or decorated with things that don't feel like us. We wanted to create canvases that weren't just "pretty," but that said something. Pieces we look at every morning and that remind us who we are, what we want to become.

Why this name, G. Schiaparelli?
The name is a tribute to boldness and Italian elegance. It is this spirit that we wanted to infuse into every creation: daring to say things, but with class. Our canvases carry strong messages in a carefully crafted aesthetic setting — a bit like a sweet word written on beautiful paper.

Where does the inspiration for the designs come from?
From everywhere. From a phrase overheard in a café, from a painting seen in a gallery, from a conversation with someone going through a life moment. Each canvas is born from an emotion or an idea that deserves to be displayed. The vintage aesthetic came naturally — it brings a warmth, a depth that contemporary design does not always have.

What is the creative process for a canvas?
It always starts with the message. What do we want the person to feel when looking at this canvas? Then comes the visual composition — the colors, textures, typography. Every detail is worked on so the whole thing is harmonious. We test each design in a real setting, on a wall, in a room, before approving it. A canvas that doesn't give you chills isn't ready.

Who are your canvases for?
To those who want their interior to reflect who they are. People looking for more than a decorative object — something meaningful. Our customers often tell us they bought a canvas for themselves, like a gift they give themselves. Others give it to someone going through an important moment. That’s what moves us the most.

A word for those who are still hesitating?
Your walls tell a story. Make sure it’s yours.
