What is canvas fabric?

CANVAS, WHAT IS IT?

Canvas is a medium that can be made of 100% cotton of different weights — for example, at Giulia Schiaparelli, prints are made on 320-gram cotton — or a blend of polyester and cotton. Canvas fabric allows for optimal adhesion of color pigments for a vibrant result on a durable medium. Polyester and cotton canvas gives slightly more vivid colors during printing, while 100% cotton ensures a more resistant support.

ADVANTAGES OF CANVAS IN INTERIOR DECORATION

Canvas has a distinctive texture that remains visible even after printing: a photo printed on canvas will therefore have a more artistic look reminiscent of artists' paintings.

Canvas adds depth to colors.

Canvas prints do not have reflection issues, unlike glass.

Canvas prints are lighter and easier to handle.

Canvas is ultra-resistant and durable, and the print is permanent.

Last piece of information about canvas: in English, "canvas" precisely means "toile" (fabric), but the term is now commonly used to refer to prints made on this type of material.
